Cody was born and raised in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Oklahoma State University and her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. During law school, she served on the editorial board of the Oklahoma Law Review.

Cody primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, guardianships, probate, trust administration, business issues and litigation. She is a member of both the Oklahoma Bar Association and Oklahoma County Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. She is a Graduate of the Heart of America Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Cody intermittently serves on the OBA Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Section Legislative Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the William J. Holloway, Jr. American Inn of Court. Cody has been recognized multiple times as one of the best local attorneys for Wills by 405 Magazine. She has been published in both the Oklahoma Law Review and Oklahoma Bar Journal. With her co-author Ashley Ray, she received the Maurice Merrill Golden Quill Award for the best written article published in the Oklahoma Bar Journal in 2019 for their article entitled “Issues in Unplanned and Poorly Planned Estates.”

Prior to joining the firm, Cody served as a Blackstone Fellow in Sofia, Bulgaria, providing policy advocacy and legal aid to migrants and refugees and promoting religious freedom. She worked as a legal intern for the OU Office of Legal Counsel and for the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office. Cody also worked in the appellate division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Oklahoma.

Before earning her law degree, Cody worked as a high school teacher in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. She attends Crossings Community Church.
